How old is Sanbor?

Sanbor was founded by its sole owner in 1990. It is incorporated in Pennsylvania as a sub-chapter S corporation, with headquarters in Allentown, PA. Sanbor Medical was formed as a separate operating division in 2004 in order to provide a dedicated focus to the company's growing business in the medical device community.
 

Where is Sanbor Medical's manufacturing operation?

Sanbor Medical manufactures all of its products at its 120,000 sq. ft. company owned facility in Xiamen, China. The factory is FDA Registered and includes a Class 100,000 clean room for finished device assembly and packaging.
 

Where is Xiamen located?

Xiamen is a large coastal city located approximately 500 miles northeast of Hong Kong. It has the fourth largest seaport in China allowing for rapid and low cost shipping to U.S. and European markets. With a population of 2,500,000 people, Xiamen has evolved a significant manufacturing base, and has become home to many major U.S. and Japanese corporations for their Asian manufacturing and distribution operations. Xiamen has a large international airport and has convenient domestic flights to and from Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. Sanbor Medical's factory is located just 5 minutes drive from the Xiamen airport.
 

Where is Sanbor's engineering staff located?

Sanbor employs a team of electrical, mechanical, and design engineers in its Allentown headquarters. This group works hand in hand with an extended group of manufacturing, quality, and technical engineers at the manufacturing plant. All customer communication on technical issues is held with our Allentown based engineering group.
 

Who pays for shipping charges from China?

Sanbor conducts weekly ocean container shipments from the factory to our warehouse in Los Angeles, California. All products are quoted to customers on an F.O.B. Los Angeles basis, unless otherwise specified. Sanbor handles all ocean freight, customs, and dock handling charges for our containerized shipments.
 

With Sanbor manufacturing its products in China, how is my Intellectual Property protected?

I.P. protection is a primary concern in the Sanbor organization. In order to protect our customers' Intellectual Property, Sanbor employs a multi-tiered system that limits access to information. On a primary level, all technical information that is required in the factory is scrubbed of any customer reference prior to distribution from the headquarters. Next, all customer purchase orders are placed with the Customer Service department in Allentown, PA. The Allentown headquarters initiates the production orders to the factory, so there is no further transfer of customer specific information. Finally, as a U.S. corporation, any problems with I.P. infringment will be dealt with in the U.S. court system. To date, Sanbor has not experienced a single incident related to a customer I.P. issue.
 

Who owns the factory in China?

Sanbor Xiamen is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sanbor Corporation. All of the employees at Sanbor Xiamen are Sanbor employees who must sign an employee agreement in order to work in the factory. Sanbor is a fully vertically integrated manufacturer and does not job shop production to the lowest bidder. In this way Sanbor can provide our customers with complete product traceability. All shipments are provided with a Certificate of Conformance.
 

Is your manufacturing plant FDA registered and ISO compliant?

Yes, the Sanbor Xiamen facility is FDA Registered and also ISO9001:2000 and ISO13485:2003 Certified.
 

Is your manufacturing plant open to customer audits?

Yes. Our factory has undergone audits by a wide range of well known companies in the Medical, Automotive, Industrial, and Consumer Appliance industries. We welcome the opportunity to host our customers and prospective customers to visit our Xiamen facility. Sanbor makes the trip to our factory as convenient as possible for our customers by arranging hotel accommodations as necessary, and providing transportation to and from the airport and our factory. The factory is conveniently located within 5 minutes driving distance from the airport.
